Why would it have to be a painful death? Wouldn't them all passing away peacefully in their sleep leave us in the same predicament?

:icon_roll don't be ridiculous. If they all passed away in their sleep their bodies would still be in one piece, and therefore still superior options. A painful death suggests to me that something (an arm, a leg, or a head) is ripped or pulled off or at least seriously mangled and as crap as he is, it's at this point where Headless becomes the better option.
