And Everton and Palace are both 10th... maybe ‘rank’ doesn’t mean ‘league position’.

Can you suggest what it might otherwise be?

Is it their position in the league based on performances since they joined? Would make sense for us to be 7th.

Would Stoke be 4th on goal diff based on Saturdays results?

Where's that site which works out League tables between specified dates? I'm sure Jefff knows.

Honestly, no. If Lambert isn’t first with 3, then it isn’t managers ranked by points per game.
Since he took over, 1 game ago, Chelsea won 4-0 and would be top, arsenal won 4-1 and would be second. Stoke and ourselves both won 2-0 and, despite the fact that that would make them level with us, they’d be listed 4th on alphabetical order.

It may be daft, but at least Glyn’s theory of how they’ve calculated it would work that way.

I was wrong. I forgot that Man City beat Newcastle 3-1, so they’d be third, with us and Stoke level in fourth.

This says we were 18th when Puel took over:

This says we were 14th:

I'm sure football was simpler than this in the olden days.
