He's played shockingly the past few games, but what he says there, is to me anyway, spot on. I must admit it is refreshing to have what seems to be blunt honesty coming from the camp, even if some deem it to be just lip service.

It's like everything a matter of public opinion. Hence this little running battle with certain fans etc should be viewed as just a slice of the opinion. So players and managers should realise that when you come out with damning rants it alienates half of the fanbase who support them week in, week out.

Players and managers aren't here forever, the fans are.

I agree with what you say in principal, but before all we had was the same old "one team one dream" drivel and what felt like no honesty from the club.

The reason certain fans don't like what is being said is because it is critical of them, and whether you are paying money or not, if you are going to treat one human being the way some of the players get treated, you have to expect to be treated in a similar way back.

I really don't want to hear the thoughts of any of the players. I just want them to do their best on the pitch. I pay them to do that, not spout meaningless rubbish in the press.

I am not a great fan of players and managers talking through the press / club website, it's too easy, and all too often ends up coming across completely wrong.

What I would prefer to see is more regular communication between the players / management and the wider fan base, maybe along the lines of the open training session earlier this year (or something similar), to encourage greater understanding on both sides, thereby helping us to move away from what is becoming an increasingly poisonous relationship to one which helps rather than hinders out on the pitch.

I wouldn't want to single out Clemence as every player says the same thing. However, how dare they ask me to ignore 20 odd games this season and about the 200 before that. I have every right to judge them on the basis of evidence seen with my own eyes over and over again.

They have to earn a clean slate. Not ask for one.
