He noted that they have read the reactions to the comments after the last home game. I am stunned by this as I thought footballers were unable to read.

To be fair he is the captain, so it's his job to speak out on behalf of the players, and at least he was honest.

I'm not saying it isn't deserved, but the atmosphere at the walkers toward our own players is hostile at the moment, and i can't fault Ollie wanting to make the players feel they have more support, at least from within the club.

In terms of the dressing room atmosphere this has got to do better than "we'll double our efforts on the training ground"

This is this season's phrase that pays, I've lost count of the times it has been said by players, managers and MM since the summer.

Start by making oppo fans walk through a shower of piss then instead of welcoming them to the Walkers. Piss the visiting team about and hide their shorts. Get some Anderlecht fans over on secondment.

Nah, forget that, how about scoring some damn goals and taking three points at home Stevey? How about shutting the f*ck up and getting on with the football?

So far Clem has failed to impress and he has no one to blame but himself for that. On the pitch the man is almost silent...so shouting, no encouragement, no direction.

I'll take a lecture off the new boss but Clemence can f*ck off - until he produces a run of form and starts acting like a captain.

Well...fair play to him for speaking out and admitting he's not playing very well at the minute. I think the fans would concur Stevie!

Thats all well and good, but now if he goes out and sh*ts the bed against West Brom (like he has against most teams recently), the heat will really be on him.

I like that he has held his hands up, but if it doesn't translate to the performance on the pitch its all for nowt really.

the fact that this tit is still captain is incredible, i agree with most comments in this thread regarding performing on the field. he mentions his 'off days', when exactly did he not have one of these? he has been gash since the moment he first wore the city shirt

Tripe.

I don't need to know what a footballer thinks, I need to see what he does. And at the minute, it's fcuk all.

What's next? Porn stars handing out advice on how to view their films?

Shut up Clemence, open your legs and wait for the warm, salty splash...oh hang on...I seem to be mixing my analogies.

Oooh, I don't feel well.

maybe not, there must be some reason he is still being picked for the team

I am going to start a course in counseling. When Ollie turns this club around, some of you chaps are going to have so much ire with no outlet that I could make a fortune giving anger management classes!
All that I read in Clem's piece was that the team need their 'twelfth man' to increase the pressure on WBA. What's wrong with that?:102:

....and that he was playing shite and needed to buck his ideas up (amongst many of the other too). Didn't see much wrong in that either.

The key will be whether he delivers on Saturday when he pulls on the blue shirt against the Baggies - let's hope it is not all hot air.

frustration about the comments he has made are purely down to us being fed this rubbish again and again by different players/managers...."they'll all redouble their efforts and actually play better next week" rarely happens.

Good points well made in my eyes. He is basically saying everyone needs to do better players and fans which is spot on. Lets see who actually does do better.

Is this right? Surely this would make playing football nigh on impossible? Does he think it is the 6th century and the French are about to invade?

I fart in his general direction...
