Can I just say, just because someone is a defensive midfielder (or not an attacking midfielder), it doesn't mean that they aren't a creative midfielder.

Pretty sure Clemence is a good enough passer of the ball to start attacks, either by spreading the ball to the flanks or through balls to the front men to create goalscoring oppurtunities, without being an "attacking" midfielder as such.

I think this is an great signing, and if we get Deej in as well we'll look a lot stronger. If we are going to be playing 2 gritty centre mids (ala Clem and Kish) then we definetely still a need new left winger as well with some genuine pace and quality.

I agree i'm sure Clemence is capable of being creative he has just been traditionally used as a holding man as Brum have paired him with more creative (possibly lazy) players.

MON always started from the premise that if you stop the opponents playing your halfway there. KISH & CLEM will certainly work other midfields out of the game. Slightly more graft than Hughes and Williams combo!!!!!

The creativity will come from Kaebi and our left winger (whoever that may be)
STILL NEED A LEFT BACK (if it was gonna be Morfaw surely it would have happened by now)

Not necessarily - I think he's still training with us, and I'd imagine MA would like to see him in the weekend's friendlies before committing one way or the other.

Porter is a good left sided player IMO.

Well IMO he isn't.:icon_wink

He is far too lightweight and as such is bullied off the ball easily. Don't get me wrong he has moments but for me he is short, lightweight and not exactly quick.

Not someone I want competing only with himself for the left sided position.

In fact just no!

Great signing, exactly what we needed. We now have in Clem, Kish and Weso 3 very strong and committed midfielders who have the ability to dominate the central midfield area and then get the ball out wide to the wingers who IMO will be Kaebi and Hume.

IMO he is a good player sorry mate ,dont forget he's still very young and came into the first team due to the fact RK didnt have anbody to fill that spot IMO it was too soon for him but he did well most the time well done to him

We will have to agree to differ. I know he is young but I have seen him bullied out of too many games to be convinced he will come good. Been absent from play far too many times for my liking...

Still you may be right and I may be wrong and he could possibly turn into a great little player.

Just don't put much money on that.

In the right company & formation I think he could do quite well, though his size will always be a handicap. So far he's had to spend far too much time isolated waiting for long hoofs in the air.

The first game against Fulham gave a glimpse of what he might be capable of. I particularly enjoyed his heading duel with Wayne Routledge!

Heard that Porter had played centre-mid quite a bit in some recent training sessions. It may be that MA realises that he is better there.

Clemence is a fantastic signing. I'd rather have hard work and graft, with simple passes to get attacks going than show ponies who spray a 50 yard pass once every few matches and send shots into row z all the time...

So you want Joey back too?

Despite his pace, he never has the confidence or skill to actually beat a man which gets me nozzle. Gillespie could beat a man for example.

excuse me if somebodys already said this but ive been told that clemence is our new captain and will wear no. 10 shirt
