Lloyd Dyer?

An excellent suggestion - he's certainly going the right way about it!

Speaking of Muzzy, I enjoyed Kem Izzet's reaction to the chants of "you're brother's better than you" and "there's only one Izzet" - just a cheeky smirk towards the City fans.

thought we played well and were much the better team

Dyer and Powell were great, the back line was solid

great support, good to see Boc, Shapova & Beaumont

the ground appears to be based upon The Marstons, but i never complain about any ground that does pre-game and half time alcohol :)

got the train back to London with a load of Ipswich fans

me: how's MacCauley
them in unison: shit
me: thanks for the money

them: everyone in the championship is rooting for Leicester
me: are they, why?
them: everyone hates Leeds
me: ha ha
one ipswich fan: a few of us went to the Donny Leeds play off final, it was brilliant

:)

Pearson Hails Top Of Table Performance

Posted on: Wed 01 Oct 2008
Foxes boss Nigel Pearson hailed his side's "thoroughly professional performance" after they overcame Colchester United 1-0 in their own backyard on Tuesday evening.

The three points at the Weston Homes Community Stadium thanks to Lloyd Dyer's fourth goal of the season moved City back to the top of League One - a point ahead of both Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United after eight games.

"It is very satisfying to be back at the top of the league looking down on everyone else," said Pearson.

"I thought we played pretty well on the night and turned in a thoroughly professional performance.

"Yes, we'd like to have scored more goals and made the result more comfortable but on days or nights where you can't do that, then you've just got to see the job through until the very end.

"I thought we did that and apart from their free-kick which hit the post late on, I can't really remember them causing us any problems at all.

"I was very pleased not just with the work rate and application of the players but I thought they played some very good counter-attacking football as well.

"I am delighted with another clean sheet and another victory, which has helped put us top."

Pearson, meanwhile, picked out strikers Matty Fryatt and Steve Howard for special praise after both were denied on the evening only by the heroics of U's shotstopper Dean Gerken.

He added: "Colchester have had a difficult start to the season, and find themselves in a situation where they've recently had a change in managers and that's never easy.

"They put in a very committed performance after a great result on Friday against Tranmere so we knew it was going to be a tough game but ultimately every time we play it's about what we do ourselves.

"We didn't really create a lot in the first half but after the break we had enough opportunities to win the match comfortably.

"And I thought our front two were fantastic in terms of their work-rate and creating opportunities.

"They'll get their rewards on another day but both Matty and Stevie worked unbelievably hard for the team and were a threat all night. They were terrific."

Pearson also revealed the latest on absentees Paul Dickov and DJ Campbell ahead of Saturday's trip to 15th-placed Huddersfield Town.

"Paul had a minor operation on his back yesterday and will be out for a few more weeks while we've just got to wait and see with DJ.

"But as the lads showed tonight, we fortunately have that strength in depth to cope with a few injuries.

"As I've said before this season, I am in a more fortunate position than a lot of other managers in this division in terms of squad numbers."

I'm surprised at that, I thought everyone hated us too.

And teams should have realised that buying anyone from our team last year was a bad idea.

Knew that 14/1 Dyer was a big price..always wise after the event

Mentioned this in the pub before the game so a few of us lumped on with ###### - I'm £140 better off than before! My mate sat next to me actually shouted at him " cut inside and shoot! " which he duly did. If only all away days could be like that!

Good to see you as well, I forgot to say, say hiya to your mum!:icon_bigg

As for McAuley, the ipswich lot on TFF are moaning like fúck about him. I don't laugh at them much!:icon_lol:

Dyer was MOTM. Should've scored at least two more from the chances spurned. Colchester don't need four stands. They DO need people who know how to work in a food kiosk though. Useless muppets.

To be honest those hightlight show Fryatt as having a cracking lively game, none of his chances were really cut and dry and their keeper made some corking saves.

Great goal from Dyer (from a Fryatt pass mind ;) )

I suspected Dyer wouldnt live up to his promise from his pre and early season performances but he looks a cracking player now :038:
