Large is not necessarily better. A directional antenna designed for the specific frequency would be ideal. Don't get me started on sporadic E.

You believe incorrectly Stevie, it's absolutely impossible. You could have an aerial a mile high and it still wouldn't pick it up. FM transmitters only cover a very limited area.
