TBH anybody who thinks that CL is the worst manaer that we have had needs confronting - and I don't think HF was confrontational on the way that he went about it.

Craig Levein certainly had his faults but in greater part he did the job that he was speciifically asked to do by the peopel that employed him. His legacy is a reasonable squad on reasonable money. It is arguable whether RK or anybody else could have achieved anything much with the side that Levein inherited from the previous incumbent.

CL was not all bad!

HF - no offence taken, I deciphered that it was Redditch you were aiming your post at!

Boc - you're right CL certainly wasn't the worst ever, but he was looking very quickly like gaining that tag before he got sacked! I agree he did some good things, but I think part of his downfall was a little too much confidence that it would 'just turn around'.
Although as has been said before the departure of Dion has also coincided with a change in passion amongst the squad so there are other factors here that have helped turn this season around.

Talking of current form it was funny to read in the paper today that Ipswich need a few points this week to keep their faint hopes of a play-off place alive, but then looking at the league table I saw that the Cov are in 9th on the same number of points

Fair play to Micky, that is almost a good a turn around in 2006 as RKs.

That said I do believe he was possibly the worst manager we've ever had - if you take account of results (not) achieved and the division where we are playing.

Finally, I'm quite amused by the comment (not from you) to the effect that Levein was a decent judge of players but just could't get them to play. That seems to me to be the ultimate condemnation - but in any case some of his signings were good; and others were awful.
