Excellent, you two may have saved this country. Steve Walsh was leading all our yoofs down the wrong path but there is hope now

Thanks Fitz.

I really feel that if this terrific act of kindness proves to be a success I will be regarded to many as not just a legend but a great legend.

You most probably would Harbs, except none of can work out what your definition of 'legend' is.

I really can't work out what you find so confusing, a previous post in another thread makes it as simple as learning ABC. :)

A legend is someone or something that has become part of folk memory. That is why people talki of "myths and legends".

A footballer will not be a legend while he is still playing. IMO Wayne Rooney is better than Dennis Law was but Law is a Man U legend while Rooney is not - yet.
You may call Rooney brilliant, great, a superstar - yes. Legend not yet.

None of the present Leicester team are legends yet. To give an example I have given before - I hope to be present in twenty years time when Alan Birchenall brings onto the pitch those Leicester legends Michael Morrison and Jack Hobbs to talk about their days at the heart of Nigel Pearson's legendary Premiership side.

Bloody hell, thats a confusing way to look at who is and who isn't legends.

:icon_lol: Yes, thanks for that David, that clarifies the rest of the world's position on what a 'legend' is, what we can't work out is what harbro's definition is.
From what i can gather, it is very different from yours (and everybody else's)

That's not true anyway.

Neil Harris at Millwall is a legend and he still plays.
Brett Ormerod at Blackpool, two goals in two different play off finals - he is seen as a legend.

Just two examples.

WOW! ****in wow, just brilliant :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

By definition, a legend can't still be doing what he's a legend for.

However "Legend" is slowly taking on a new defintion with people of myself, tedfoxx and harbro's age (I hope I'm right in thinking they're similar). Now it means "awesome person", basically.
eg, "Mate, I went out with smithy last night. That guy's a legend".

Yeah.

Does that mean that 'awesome' has also taken on a new meaning with such people?
