well, can't see the 41-50 goals on foxes player yet, but out of the first 40 LCFC lost only 3 games Nugent scored in. Impressive!

Nugent has been an excellent player for us. I've always appreciated him and agree that his approach to the game is one I admire. He clearly enjoys his work.

Although it is fashionable to rip into Sven's time at the club, he signed Schmeichel, Konchesky and Nugent. True, he also signed plenty of dross, but these three have been terrific servants. They all occasionally screw up or give a bad display, but for 99/100 fans, they'd be among the first names on the team-sheet at any point over their time at the club.

They were all in NPs first line up on his return (Schmeichel, Peltier, Konchesky, Mills, St. Ledger, King, Dyer, Wellens, Gallagher, Beckford, Nugent) and only Dyer also remains as a regular starter 126 games later.

Nugent and Vardy are great but I am pretty certain that we will need to invest in top centre forward to supplement them. Where that will leave Wood I don't know.... perhaps moving onto pastures new?

No way for me as I think people still forget how young he is having only just turned 22 before Christmas so still not really near his peak yet and has already proven himself to be a regular goalscorer at this level.

He's possibly the best goal scorer we have (bar the glory stealing wanker) but doesn't offer so much elsewhere in the game where Vardy and Nugent excel.

I'd imagine, if we do go up, we'd keep the mentioned 3 and add a proven/experienced player to give us 4 striker options which seems to be the norm for Prem teams.

In the time I watched Wood play his movement was very poor.

This was also during our dreadful run last season.

He looks about a stone lighter this season. I'd be fascinated to see how his play was with a run of games.

They are on the Football League app, but I couldn't see them on the player website.
I've noticed this problem before.

Well I've seen goals 41-50 and the only other defeat he scored in was Stoke away in the cup. So thats only 4 defeats in games he's scored in thus far.

Just seen a Twitter stat 'David Nugent has either scored or assisted 47% of Leicester's 62 league goals this season (17 goals, 12 assists)'.

Yet some still complain about his performances.

I disagree. An in form Nugent could help Nathan Blake to reach 20 a season.

I may disagree. It would wholly depend on Blake being able to make himself available as Vardy has learned to do.

I completely agree with you Boc, I was just being silly.

They're a dynamic duo, that's for sure. As has been said countless times, Vardy has improved beyond recognition and makes well timed runs into dangerous areas. Nugent knows where Vardy will be and is skilful enough to pick him out. They clearly love playing together.

Nugent's problem is that he can be sucked into long spells of mediocre performances. He'll still chip in with the odd goal and play his part but it is frustrating when you see him break away from it and have a good run like this.

He's been top class for the last month and if he can keep this level of performance I'd have no worries about him performing in the EPL.

Nugent's top assist for me (this season) was the 4th goal versus derby. Superb desire and a perfectly weighted through ball.
