at the moment the trading losses are being covered by last year's profits and the sum originally ploughed in when we came out of admin.

The money that was put into the club when we came out of admin was used to pay off some of the debts and used as working capital until the end of the season - and even then we ended up making a big loss in that promotion season. The problem when we came out of administration was that the club had to last until the end of the season with virtually no income - stuff like season ticket and sponsorship money had been paid to the previous regime, and the new company didn't get any of that money but still honoured the previous arrangements.

But MM has only ever had success with Redknapp as manager, all his other appointments have been awful.

:038: ... Old fish face would be pure quality down here, but will never happen. Well not this season anyway.

What concerns me is what happens if after 3-4 years we're still where we are. What will MM do then? Will he walk out leaving us £30 million in debt? Or will he make a commitment not to leave us in the shit?

This is my only concern and IMO is the only issue that could scupper the deal on the table. Despite repeated requests he has flatly refused to make any committments that would safeguard the long term existence of the club.

I suppose he wonders why he should, the present lot cant do it.

I've also not taken into account the approx £400,000 we've received this season by selling players.

But how much of that have we received already? I can remember J-Low's deal was worth 'up-to' 100k. I would presume that Peterborough stumped up little more than 25k to begin with and then maybe 25k for x amount of appearances and 50k if they get promoted. I would highly doubt that they would pay 100k for a player who was signed for free in the summer.

Not sure about O'Grady, I know the fee was 65k but not sure of any other information on this but can't imagine Rotherham, who were in Admin after us will have 65k to throw about on an unproven player.

Also William's transfer was undisclosed so it is just pure speculation as to what we received for him. I would imagine that if it were anywhere near the reported 200k then the majority of that would be on performance based pay for both player and club.

Re. MM's previous record of appointing managers

Peter Taylor, Craig Levein, Bassett, Pleat etc etc

I can not believe how negative this Jeff chap is - is he the FT in disguise? Is he so blinkered that he fails to see the opportunity the club has here? tell you what Jeff - let MM go to Wolves or another club that would gladly have him and lets see what happens to us in relation to their progress. :icon_roll

Hello everyone by the way - had to have my say on this. This is a superb opportunity - something that the club has been seeking for so long. Let's not let it go to waste because of a few negative indivduals who fail to see the bigger picture. :018:

Are you related to someone on this board? :102: :102:

I think Jeff sees the bigger picture alright. He is simply voicing concerns over selling/handing over a club to a single individual with total control who so far has given no guarantees on the future existence of the club.

MM might be brilliant. But when he jumps over the cliff he takes all of us with him. If he flies and takes us into the Premiership that will be brilliant.

If he crashes, his exit strategy might be: "Feck it, I will sell the club/stadium/training ground for development and recoup my losses"

"People who would hand the club over to MM without knowing his plans are the blinkered ones"

The board of directors and the share holders who vote for this deal are not blinkered - many are successful businessmen and women - it is they who have chosen to give it the nod - so we must trust their judgement here. It's all very well saying that - yeah but he appointed rubbish managers and he might sell the traning ground (so what??!!) - but the fact remains that at his point in time we are going nowhere but the lower divisions - with MM we are guaranteed money and knowledge of running a football club. something other teams in our position would bite his hands off for. And if it means a revolving door until he gets the right man for the club then so what??! the fact is that he wants to get us up and he has the tools to do this. The people in charge right now clearly don't! I'm looking forward to the MM rollercoaster ride! Come on - jump aboard and let's see what happens.

Some might say the present regime has employed one or two tools too many

The shareholders haven't voted for the deal yet. If they do I trust that they will make the right decision for the club, and if that means MM takes over I hope it's because they've asked the same questions as me and they're happy with what he's said.
A lot of people seem to think that MM will bring instant success, but life doesn't work like that and I hope they can take the disappointment if things don't turn out to be as good as they expect

I don't think they do, people do however see a glimmer of hope. It's a whole lot more than the doom and gloom we have now.

You miss the point. Yes he will put money in. Getting into the Premiership is the only way he can recoup his investment and make a substantial profit. But putting money in does not guarantee promotion. He took five years to get Portsmouth promoted. What if he gets fed up after three years here? What happens to the club if he dies in the next year or so?

Yes we all want the rollercoaster ride but would you get on one that has a notice that says: "No inspection done and no safety certificate provided for this ride. You get on entirely at your own risk".

No you miss the point, we are sliding downwards into obscurity. Is that not clear to you?

Portsmouth had a load of shit players and were in a worse position than us. MM will have learnt from his mistakes at Portsmouth.

If the board pass the deal then they have accepted that its best for the club and have the answers they required. It seems that its a for gone conclusion now.

Of course it is clear. The points being made are not that we do not want/need investment. The board declared they would not risk the future existence of the club. That has meant so far a very cautious financial path, rather than the Leeds fiasco of a few years ago. All Jeff and others are saying is, without written assurances from MM about the future, the board would be taking a huge risk by possibly gambling the future existence of the club on the basis of a verbal only "Trust me" from MM.

FFS any written assurances count for faff all when MM tales over. The club isn't being run prudently at the moment so i don't know where you got that from.

The clubs very existence is at risk without investment, hence AT being brought in to seek an investor. There are no other avenues. Zero Zip Nada.
