We spent less than half of the connolly money on players.

If the club is in such great financial position explain to me why the club has allowed itself to be taken over for a pittance.

Do you know the offer, because no other bugger appears to have received it yet?;) And who is to say how many shareholders will find it acceptable

Also, don't forget West Ham would have had a cut of the transfer fee for Connolly.

In the financial year we're talking about we received £2 million for Connolly (assuming it was all paid within that year), and spent approaching £1.5 million on transfer fees - plus presumably big signing on fees for the likes of Douglas.

It hasn't. And if it does, many of the shareholders have said the amount they get for their shares is not important, it's about what's best for the club.

Its been a few days since the FT denied having the final bid, no?

They say a lot of things and I'd assume the document will be marked confidential.

They didn't say they were going to post a copy of the bid...just that they have received it...that doesn't break any confidentiality rules.

I don't think they meant they would post the bloody bid document on the website, DF - just the fact that it had been received

My opinion based on informed posters on here and other sites.

FT stated that cutbacks have no where near covered the loss of the parachute payment et al. The Connolly sale was a bonus. The parachute payment will account for most of the losses this season.

This is all conjecture, but as I posted earlier, the weekly loss figure I have heard is £30,000 - that's nothing like the paruchute payment. I think you have got to credit the management with some sort of business sense, there is no way they would have budgeted for a £10 million loss this season, for starters it could not be financed from within or outside the club.

Of course not, but the financial armageddon some have speculated on is just not true. As for the on field activities, for many of the years I have followed LCFC it has been absolute dung. If MM comes in, the losses will be far far higher as he will be gambling on going up.

I didn't say it was £10 million. I detailed it in another thread that i think it will be around £5-6 million.

but at least it will be in search of a goal other than, avoiding relegation. At least we might go in to games against teams of much smaller stature on a level footing.

I think we are in really deep shite, and I would put our debts in at between £8 to £10 million and that is why M.M
has been stalling driving a very hard bargain down as much as he can, to facilitate more money being given to the club to get it out of the mire its in, plus getting a couple of decent loans in to stave off relegation
