Dean Smith - LCFC Manager

While he's not the most exciting appointment that might have been achievable even at this late stage, I'm warming to him. I thought he did well with Villa until they sold Grealish, and then wasn't given a fair crack of the whip after that - Gerard certainly didn't look as good and I'd rated what he had done for Rangers. Our squad very clearly need to hear a new voice with new ideas, and to do so NOW, I'm just glad a resonably credible manager is here - I feel a little hope tody, which had felt completely extinguished after Saturday's match

To be honest it can all be as ugly as **** for these last eight games - let’s face it, it has been terrible to watch all season bar about 8 games.

I am usually very considered I believe in my views and tend to be cautious. I have to say that in all my years of supporting our great club I have never felt such hatred for a previous manager and this in spite of us winning the FA Cup with us.

I believe he created this situation and we could feel the backlash for years.

Never come back to Leicester Brendan, you are largely not wanted.

I have to say, its quite funny reading everyone's comments and seeing how you are all at the classic different stages of grief (brilliantly done by Homer Simpson).
Denial (we're not going down),
Anger (against BR the Board),
Bargaining (maybe Rafa, Potter, whoever, can save us)
Depression (we're ****ed) and finally Acceptance (Okay, Smith then, he's not Stowell or Sadder or Marsch)
Personally I've been rotating through them all constantly over the last weeks and it's just about done me in.

Sadler and Stowell are useless but they were also hamstrung on Saturday by a request to play a certain way to show Jesse how he could adapt the squad to his tactics, by halftime this was evident not to be possible and the club and Jesse concluded they weren't a good fit (WOTS).
Seriously. People need to stop walking down that street. It really is littered with dogshit.

Funny ha-ha or funny peculiar?

Denial for me was much earlier in the season (maybe even last season) Anger was felt when Rodgers started sulking and shifting blame. I'm not sure I went through a bargaining phase. If I did, it was brief. I probably saw it as futile because I realised Rodgers wasn't going anywhere until it was too late. Depression hit more or less straight after anger; I felt we were ****ed with or without Rodgers. I'm now feeling a sadness, but an acceptance of the situation.

I'm still rotating through them. I literally just now thought after we lose to Man City we can win the rest of our games.... that is some massive Denial!!

Of course we can win a load of games. Forget Saturday but there are loads of opportunities against absolutely bang average teams. We just need someone to get these ****ers firing and running through walls.

WTAF? You serious?? So, you're telling me that someone somewhere thought that it was acceptable to audition footballing styles in a crucial game for a manager who may or may not be joining the club (and hasn't as it turns out), instead of going hell for leather to get points in?

That's scandalous.

In the last couple of weeks we've not known what is going on. Every day, even every hour, has had some weird happenings. A lot of it has been scandalous in a normal world/football club.

Normally I'd brush that off as complete bollocks but with the way we are at the moment, it isn't the most far-fetched scenario, especially given the performance.

I’m sorry…what???

Been stuck at anger for about 2 years.

The WOTS part needs more emphasis here, like, way way more.

I know, I did see David Nugent yesterday and thought about asking him about it but decided it was too unlikely so decided to post it here instead.

eerily it feels like the time we appointed the legend that is Ranieri, at the time I think most city fans were MEH. This appointment feels the same as then, the only positive is how Smith ensured that the Villa team maximised the amount of time Grealish had on the ball hopefully, he has the same thought process for Maddison and more importantly he plays in the middle of the pitch.

I could be wrong but I think he preferred two strikers upfront which I hope was the case and is something he continues to do. Also I sincerely hope he stops all of this nonsensical bollocks of passing the ball around the back, we are in a relegation scrap and we have gifted teams the points by consistently playing the style of our last charlatan of a coach AKA BR.

We can do this it is now down to the players to role their sleeves up and leave everything out on the pitch.
