Ok my thoughts
Right first off a big club. To me the big clubs are the ones in the Prem. Why i here you ask. Well is that not the place we all strive to be. Do the best players in the world want to play there, yes the money is there and unlike the other divisions in most cases (wigan apart ) there grounds are nearly full most weeks. So to me these are truly the big clubs.
Right for the rest of us. Are we a big Club at the prescent time, i'd say no, but we do have the potential and MM & MA are striving to make us one. Some of the players they have bought in prove that i.e Campbell and Clemence recent history say's we are a bottom half club with above avarage crowds for our position, we had no money and were never gonna move up. (untill MM moved in for us) So we now have that potential.
Now i here some saying we won 2 league cups, thats in the past. Forest won two european cups and the league, there fans will claim they are a big club. Sorry big clubs dont play in what was the old 3rd division.
Having a history of being a big club 20/30yrs ago does not mean you are now point wimbeldon, had yrs in the top fligh,t and an FA cup where are they now MK dons and forest
Hope it's ruffled a few feathers now let battle commence

Steve thankyou, but i did make a few corrections.......is this a footy forum or an english grammer forum ????
It's a Leicester City forum, nothing to do with English grammar but it does help us to read your opinions if you do use some grammar, otherwise it just looks like it has been written in Welsh and no one will bother reading it!

In today's footballing environment, to be a big club you need a billionaire. Simple as.
Newcastle and Sunderland aren't small clubs. There are (at a push) 3 big clubs in England, Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal (they are a distant 3rd).
After that are the wannabe's and used to be's like Everton, Villa, Chelsea etc.
Then the could be's and might be's like West Ham and us (amongst many, many others). These can only aspire to be in the wannabe's and used to be's category.
The rest are all shithole little clubs.
Money and recent performances matter not one jot. Nothing anyone can do about that within a generation.

They sure as hell aren't big clubs. Neither have won feck all in donkeys years, both yo-yo clubs traditionally. Very much in the Leicester, West Ham, Wolves category. Only difference is that they get more fans than many in that category. But that's only a recent thing. I remember going to Newcastle and Sunderland many times with 10 - 15,000 there.
They are clubs with massive delusions of grandeur.
Hazzman were you playing 5 aside tonight at Goals in Norfolk Park Sheffield??
I only ask because there were two other people their with Leicester shirts on and one had 'HAZZA' written on the back...
Was it you?
She thinks Leicester's day in the sun has come and gone too. :icon_bigg
That's your Mam, that is

But what criteria are you using to declare those three, and no-one else, as Big clubs?
That is all entirely based on your own personal opinion.
I've decided that any club that is in the top two divisions of the English leagues, with the exception of Covscum, can rightly regard themselves as a big club.
I can't tell you how or why I've come to that decision, it's just my opinion.
When all is said and done, both of our opinions are completely meaningless.
