No Thakor tomorrow. Wayne White is fit, I wonder if they'll try and squeeze him in. Problem is breaking up a really effective bowling unit over the last 10 championship games of Naik, Henderson, Hoggy, Buck and Malik would be silly unless the pitch really doesn't offer the spinners anything (although I still think Naik would offer more to the team). Also Naik has certainly proved capable with the bat at seven.

Surely they wouldn't bat White or Naik as high as six!

WI Jefferson, TJ New*, PA Nixon, JWA Taylor, J du Toit, WA White, JKH Naik, CW Henderson, NL Buck, MN Malik, MJ Hoggard*

White in.

Unfortunatley lost toss and we bowl first. With our two spinners we could really have done with batting first.

Aussie test batsman Usman Khawaja plays for Derby as done ex Yorkshire spinner Azeem Rafiq.

White at six seems too high :icon_eek:
County obviously think a lot of him with the bat, and his batting did improve last year - he's only bowled 4 overs today.

238/5, slow going for Derby.

Derby 305 all out

95-0 slow going for us as well, but good to see a reasonable opening partnership lets hope we build on it.

on different note, Yorks have played a 15 year old wicket keeper against Durham University, apparently he spent 4 years at Leeds as a goalkeeper before deciding on a career in cricket, he took 2 catches in the first innings.

Lead over 100 now. Fair play Wayne White doing the business at six with 43*. Ton for Jefferson and 92 for Taylor.

Tweet from Dagnall:

Tom new is out for 4-6 weeks with a double break of his toe, which he did in the warm up. Paul dixey former MCCYC is his replacement. #ouch

Good having a second wicketkeeper in the side (Nixon)! Can see Nixon being first choice next week and giving an extra batsman a place rather than risk Dixey in a top five.

Seems like Dixey is actually replacing New behind the stumps during this match. Maybe Nico doesn't fancy the gloves any more.
