did we choose the right manager?

Be careful what you wish for: you just might get it.
I think that ALL city fans, whether they wanted him to be manager, or thought somebody else would do a better job, should get behind Martin Allen because, if he were to be axed for not having players foisted upon him - again, regardless of that players ability - no self respecting manager will put himself forward for the City job.
Milan is a saviour to Leicester City but football is a TEAM game; you have to let people do their job. He chose Martin Allen and now he should give him a reasonable time to do the job.

.

The problem might be that that is what happened last time round.

Of course, Allen should be backed and given a reasonable time by Milan.

But the early signs are not good are they?

- Milan appears to be already falling out with him
w - the signings look as if the decisions have come from all over the place and include what look like some right stumours e.g. Cort; a new dodgy keeper to keep the exisiting dodgy keepers company; an invisible winger; a geriatric centre back; another winger signed on the basis that he played one good game last season; a Dutch amateur (well he was amateur until we started paying him) etc etc

Spot on as usual, RF.

heard a rumour that the physio said it was pointless putting him through his medical because he knew what the results were going to be but he still had to do it and to make sure he passed it so cort could sign up :102:

Problem is, how many of those were Allen's choice. Most of them looks like the choice of our ex-director of football, aided and abetted by MM, rather than Allen, most particularly the foreign ones.

Realise that.

But all this seems to suggest that Allen was appointed on the basis that Milan believed that he (Milan) would do what he wanted with his own money - and it also suggests that 'better' candidates would have been put off the job because Milan's ways of bringing in personnel in all spheres of the club are well known in the game.

I fear that having probably wasted a lot of money in what in my view are some daft signings that this will impact on the availability of cash to bring in better players.

Old Cloughie would have packed his bags long ago

He may be able to do the job but how can we back a manager that tried to stab us in the back.
Warnock is an arragant man who has no loyalty to the team.
Just read the scathing attacks on the Sheff utd Board and players in his new autobiography.
A team that he managed for years would sooner get grayson from the seasiders at least he would be loyal and proud to manage leicester.

I dont believe in life long grudges you have to understand the situation he was in.

If city finished 3rd behind a club in a similiar situation I am sure we all would have been saying the same things.

Absolutely - the reality is that we came out of administration in a fairly favourable way and this naturally wound up a lot of people.

Warnock only said what any one with a bit of fire would have said.

It was the following relegation that really damaged us and that in my view was down to Adam's poor management because he had sufficient playing resources including half decent strikers to achieve survival.

i think we have got the right manager i think the problem might be Milan, yes he is investing the money into the club and he choses what happends but somethings he doesnt need to get involved in, he should leave the team and squad to martin and he should recommend players not tell him players that he wants to come to the club, with Milan being a man with alot of power this could stop are chances of going anywhere in the league if he will start changes managers and not give them the time to gel the team and play as one, Thank you for your time
