Looks like MM thinks he made a mistake. From theMirror
Fuming Leicester owner Milan Mandaric is ready to axe boss Martin Allen.

Mandaric has already sounded out senior players after a disastrous start to the season.

And James Wesolowski's fourth-minute winner against Accrington Stanley in the Carling Cup last night may not be enough to save Allen.

Mandaric may bring in a senior figure to work with Allen (above) or possibly replace him in the leading role - with veteran Brian Little the favoured option. Little was a huge success at Leicester in his previous spell, but has been out of work since leaving Tranmere a couple of years ago.

Allen and Mandaric are also at loggerheads over the signing of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Mandaric set up the transfer and agreed terms, but Allen then asked the Dutchman to come on trial.

It is an embarrassment for Mandaric who claimed last night he was "backing his manager" but behind the scenes there are growing problems.

As it is in the Mirror I give that some credence as it is MM's favourite mouthpiece. :icon_eek:

Just a guess, but IMO these signings are attributed to:
ok lets have a look:

neilson-made number 1 but hasnt played a game! Mackay
n'gotty- good signing, will help team Mandaric
sappleton-young, maybe one for future but not now! Allen
cort-always injured, might be good if he ever does recover! Mandaric
hellings-one for the future but not yet! Mackay
kishishev-ok, helped leeds get relegated Mandaric
chambers-looks good, can pass and tackle.(something new to leicester) Mandaric/Allen
hayes-looks very good on the wing, now all he need to do is PLAY!!! Allen
kaebi- nobody has ever seen him, at this rate never will, but menna b good Mandaric
newton-has his good days Mandaric/Allen
clemance-best signing Mandaric/Allen
campbell- when he plays longer than 10mins im sure he will be amazing Allen
I don't really know what this proves, but there you go.

Actually I do know what that proves - having more than one person picking which players to buy is a shite idea.

And it is a no brainer as to why better candidates than Allen were not appointed to the job.

The up side to Milan is that he was prepared to invest in a deadbeat football club; the downside is that his judgement on football matters including managerial appointments is somewhat chequered. Everyone who knows about Pompey understands this.

So far things don't look that good. I'm not impressed by the signings to-date - they look like a dog's dinner. However, someone has got to make the best of the situation and that is down to the manager - and he deserves the chance and time to put things right providing that this is possible. However, managers will come and go - but Milan is here for some time at least - and if it cannot work between him and Allen, it's best to make an early change. I realise that this is not what most people want to hear because we have chopped and changed so much in recent years.

I can't believe this Tosh

All i will say is Warnock was a choice. but did mm say he had listened to the fans and not appoint him.

and i for one am glad he did'nt

Me too if Warnock was made manager i wouldnt be a foxes fan anymore after the sh1t he tried to cause us when we were relegated causing the 10points deduction rule for going into administration

I don't see any likelihood of Warnock being appointed but could you explain to me why any of the above would affect his ability to manage Leicester City?

He may be able to do the job but how can we back a manager that tried to stab us in the back.
Warnock is an arragant man who has no loyalty to the team.
Just read the scathing attacks on the Sheff utd Board and players in his new autobiography.
A team that he managed for years would sooner get grayson from the seasiders at least he would be loyal and proud to manage leicester.

Mmmm - I think I recall that a former local hero of our's called David Speedie had previously once dived for a penalty in a play off final to prevent us reaching the premiership.

The only loyalty in football comes from the fans - players and managers are in it for money and personal kudos (much like most professions)

Simon Grayson might well be a good choice as a future manager and I agree that he would be proud to manage Leicester City and loyal too......that is until he got a better offer from a 'bigger' club. That's the way the game works.

What about Izzet, he would be loyal and he loves this club, we're in his heart. He'd be a spanking manager

It doesn't matter who the manager is or how good he is if the chairman underminds him.

Brilliant !!, we could get Steve Walsh in as Director of football as well.

What a dream team that would be, Ooohhh I'm so excited about this. It's gonna happen you know!!!

To the best of my knowledge, he has not shown any inclination to do a job that involves getting slagged off every other week. I would hope he is far to bright to even contemplate it.

With Ian Marshall and Tony Cottee as first team coaches

Both there last Saturday

My god, it's all coming together now.......

To be fair the guy has the confidence and charisma of a wet lettuce leaf.. he'd be a shite manager I think (i'll go and hide under my desk now and await the flames)

And please wash you mouth out......you are talking about a guy who "has Leicester City in his heart"......and was never remotely in moving on after we were relegated - was he?

I think I know what you're driving at RF.;) I.e., nobody else could match the wages he was on at LCFC, even Prem clubs like 'Boro and Villa.
