yes and we went on to lose the said game, had he scored it may have been a different story, all he had to do was pass to a player who was unmarked in the middle, perhaps someone could enlighten me on which game this was?

Would it improve your performance at work if thousands of people booed you every time you made a mistake?

do you know city fan, it wasn't long ago that people on this site was saying weve signed nobody and overall being negative about mm and ma's targets.i hope this shuts the feckers up:018:

Most of the players we've signed I've either never heard of, or I've not seen much of them.

So what's the point getting optimistic or pessimistic about the season until we see for ourselves how good the players are?

Any chance of it shutting you up?

Great signing and £1.6 mill doesn't seem to bad - £500K when/if we get promoted is peanuts. And still with more signings to come...

I think the Walkers will be different this coming season. Lots of new players, better prospects and a bit of expectation. For a few years we've always been worried when the season started, with the reality being that by the end of the year we know we're going to be flirting with relegation yet again.

Apologies to the guys who posted this earlier, but it's nice to know that relegation won't be on the cards this time around.

Well done MM, now lets see what MA can do.

It would make my job more interesting, bordering on surreal. I would probably spend too much time laughing to work, to be honest.

In a public performance context (which football is in addition to being a sport) I shudder to think the effect it would have on all but the strongest characters. I've been on stage a number of times and really can't imagine how it would have been if I'd been booed for fluffing a line or something. Then again, that's the sort of pressure stand-up comedians work under until they get established.

So with Campbell that makes 4 players that IMO could be good enough to challenge for the forwards spot(s).

Hume, Cort, Campbell and Fryatt - if they all stay then for the first time in years we'd actually have some decent subs on the bench and cover for players out of form/injured etc.

Hammond is not going to be good enough at this level IMO and MDV is too limited to offer much alternative, maybe if Cort is injured he could come in for him as a short term measure.

If Fryatt goes then we would be risking losing good competition and we would be expecting Cort to stay fit for the majority of the season. If Fryatt leaves and Cort does (as is likely) get injured then we are back to having 2 decent strikers and some crap to fill in when necessary.

Peoples reactions to signings seem to change a lot from when a deal is initially muted to when it goes through. I might be wrong but I remember the general consensus when stories of both Campbell and Clemence were first rumbled was one of apathy and there were some negative comments. Now they both appear to be brilliant signings :102:

People get carried away.

However, both Campbell & Clemence look sensible signings because they were significant players in Brum's promotion.

Also, previously the incoming signings looked in the main ordinary to dubious so any recognisable names of players under 30 were bound to be welcomed.

that happens to me all the time in the office.

When i left to go home, everybody stood up and chanted HALLELUJAH......

Before jeff worked for himself his workmates sang "get your tits out for the lads".

All the signings seem to be reasonable at this moment in time but lets wait for the Season to be in full swing before we comment
But to be fair it looks on paper a decent crop of players,

look at this lot from 2005 18th of October v Burnley

Douglas, Maybury, Kisnorbo, Hughes, McCarthy, Williams,
Sylla, Hume, D.V. Tiatto, Dublin, Gilbert, Henderson, Wilcox. Nils Eric Johanson. Stearman, Hammond, Wright,
Morris, Ryan Smith Sheehan, Hamill, Gerrbrand, O'Grady,
Logan, Dodds, Porter, Wesolowski, Graham, Smedley, and A. Chambers

Some changes made are'nt there .
