I know he's stated he thinks it's time to leave us,
When did he state that?

"I've decided that it is probably the right time for me to leave Leicester and you never know where I will end up," said Campbell.

So let me get this right, when he was here he was a crap player and that was the reason he couldn’t get in the team but now he has gone out on loan and is scoring left, right and centre suddenly it’s the fact that he couldn’t fit in with Sir NP’s plans for the team. Right I think that is clear……

I think you will find that most on here called him a lazy **** who just simply looked like he didn't want to be at Leicester. Now he is scoring elsewhere and has said what he said it appears that the majority of people were right. Is this clearer for you?
No the reason he wasnt playing was because he was always offside.:icon_wink
Then you have to ask yourself why Blackpool is a better prospect than Lcfc?
Always off-side he is not like that nice Fryatt Chappy.
He's also quoted by the same newspaper as saying...
"We'll see what happens in the future as regards which club I'll go to in the summer
I am not proving a point to anyone back at Leicester. I've got nothing to prove to them.
They decided to do what they did and I've decided to do what I've done. I am just enjoying life at Blackpool at the moment. I am enjoying playing, getting fit and staying injury free."
Steve Thompson, the man who made the calls to get Campbell to the club, couldn't be happier with how the striker is playing.
"DJ has been fantastic. He has worked his socks off since he's been here," said Thompson.
..."
I think that when you get signed for a considerable amount of money and then fail to deliver in the games for which you have been selected - and in fact have appeared to be playing at a sub-standard level, then you do have something to prove, both to the club that have paid for you and are paying your wages and to any potential suitor.
Players who say 'I have nothing to prove' do annoy - they are usually sitting on their over-paid behinds under-performing without a shred of guilt or the decency to own up that they should be doing better. I happened to think some time ago and said so on these boards last season, that DJ was a quality player who would do well... but when he eventually got his chances in the team he was frankly, dismal and disappointing. The descriptions of 'lazy' and 'disinterested' by TB'ers were absolutely right.
He has played one full game for us all season how can you judge whether he has been putting in sub standard performances?
Last season?
Last season?
The same would apply to Howard, Oakley, Fryatt etc. etc.
But they have been given the chance this season to prove what they can do, albeit against pretty shite opposition most weeks.
Campbell hasn't
Du du, du du.

So who would you drop to put Campbell in the team?
Fryatt obviously impressed the manager pre-season, and has grabbed his chance.
Campbell was obviously not happy about not being in the team, maybe he wanted to go out on loan rather than stay and fight for a starting place.
