My take on this one.

Douglas - was poor made 2 critical mistakes conceding the 1st penalty and 4th goal.
Maybury - Good defending but slow and hesistant when in possesion
Rest of defense looked very solid until the 2nd penalty
Wilcox - Looked very good, distribution excellent.
Syllia - Outstanding pace and attitude, will be a key player for Leics.
Williams - Positive at going forward.
Godjhannsen - Felt was poor, weak link in midfield
Connoly - Stood out, took his goal well still having to make too many moves tho.
Devries - Good at holding the ball up which I think is his primary role, however probably had the most chances in the game out of all strikers on the pitch and should have scored.

Elvis - Came on too late to make an impact.

Conclusiion - Felt we played very well and were starting to dominate the game until the shock 2nd penalty, after that the team fell apart at the back and didnt recover causing the the last 2 goals. The goalie looks unconfident which isnt a good sign and dublin might be better starter then devries.

Oh, my 1 complaint about our performance in this game actually: Defending set pieces. Our biggest downfall last season, and we really needed to improve at them. The number of times Sheffield United players were open at the back of the area on corners and free kicks today though was frightening. That needs rectifying. However, I think Levein said in the last week of pre-season they were really going to be working hard on set-pieces, so maybe there are still just a few things in that area that his staff need to iron out, but I would hope that will be sorted within the next couple of weeks.

First home game vs Stoke on Tuesday, we should win that.

Surely MDV should have been substituted early on....I despair. I also despaired of many of the ref's decisions (whats new) and I thought Chris Camara's commentary was woeful, not just biased but useless.

Sylla was excellent but faded, as they all did, after the second penalty.

Listened to the game on RL/webcast which was good - chrysalis's comments here seem to capture my view too. MDV was remarked on as always having his back to goal - from which unless you're Muzzy it is rather hard to score. Williams played well - can't understand the earlier comment about him on this thread.

I was surprised at Stearman coming off - it looks as though CL tried to do this about 5 minutes before it actually happened, so he may have an injury - difficult to tell.

Overall very disappinting, but not as bad as the B*lton game

Douglas did play in pre-season, but they don't count pre-season games as debuts

Why can't we get the ball over with real pace, a defelection is then all it takes. Hopefully Craig watched the way Inter used corners and the penny might eventually drop.

Yeah the corners were poor, dont think any were aimed at near post which in my opinion is where most corner - goals come from. Our weakness was defenitly the goalie mistakes and not making the most of our shots. But take heart people, we dominated the bulk of a game away to sheff utd their best ever sqaud under warnock, results will come.
