My early impression is that we are doing o.k without pulling up any trees.

My biggest concern is the 'for' chart, the lack of goals is what got us relegated 2 seasons ago...and hopefully it will not be this season.

It maybe a bit early yet...but if the strikers are not doing the business...then something has to give.

But this is the difficult bit do you drop Fryatt or Howard.....as much as Howard does the donkey work...he does not score enough or do you drop Fryatt who has scored 3.

For most of Howards flick ons...there is never anybody there...now i dont no what they do on the training groung, but i think Fryatt plays to far apart from Howard.

If the goals continue to dry up,and Nigel decides to change it around, then it would be a difficult choice between Waghorn and Gallagher,Gallagher has more experience and has a prity good record at this level.

Waghorn on the other hand impressed immensely in the first two games...i can forgive him the other night cause pumping high balls constantly was never going to suit his style of play.

I am judging on three home games (including Real) and Newcastle on Sky.
Weale - It is a credit to our defence that I have not seen him make a great save. I would not blame him for either of the goals I have seen him concede.
Neilson - I have not seen much of him. He may need time to adjust to Championship football.
Berner - Generally good except slightly lacking in pace. Ryan McGivern will need to do well to get a regular spot.
Hobbs - Very promising. I would like to see Hobbs spend his career here and become a cult hero.
Brown - brave and hard a good Championship player and nothing more - I am surprised he is keeping Tunchev out of the team
Morrison - unfair to judge him this season since he was out of position. I hope he will be loaned since judging from last year he is very promising but needs experience. .
Dany - a big step up from Lincoln City. So far he has looked Championship class but did not do well when up against a team better than that. To get out of the championship you need players better than championshop level. I hope he is keen to learn.
Oakley - a good player, hard working and unselfish
Wellens - a very good signing. Not the best since Micky Adams - I would put Fryatt, Howard and Tunchev higher - but still the kind of player who can help us get promotion.
Howard - has done very well although his injury is a concern - I hope it was a one off and not a sign of age
Fryatt - I am not sure he is fully fit but always the player most likely to score. I think he will score a lot of goals this season.
Gallagher - Too soon to tell.
Dyer - has not shone so far but hopefully competition from Max and Dany will cause him to raise his game.
Gradel - I am disappointed he has not featured more. He is a young player with tremendous potential but needs games.
Tunchev - For me he is far more gifted than Brown and Premiership qualitty. Yet against Preston I am told he played poorly. He was not even on the bench against Newcastle. What has gone wrong?

Can't understand the crticism of Weale, by some?? What has he done wrong....No chance with any of the two goals we have conceded in the league? Would like to see people explain their reasoning as to why they think he is poor?

Who do they suggest we play who is any better??

I can only go by the two matches that I've seen - but there was one bit during the Ipswich match where Berner was shielding the ball from the attacker, hoping Weale would come and claim it. He stood there for what seemed an age before deciding to come for it, and I just felt his awareness and reaction to the situation was not encouraging. The defence has been brilliant this season - and I think that good goals against record isn't a reflection on the keeper.

But I have no other suggestions, and as long as the defence keeps playing well who gives a shit. I'm all for giving him time to settle - he must have been signed for some reason.

I just dont rate Berner, against Barnsley all their chances came from the right wing. He kept getting caught.

Hes a good squad player though.

A perfect example of someone making a judgment based on very little. I hate to bring this up, but if you've not seen all the games your opinion of the players doesn't carry as much weight as the opinion of those who have. Berner's been a superb signing.

And most of the chances that we afforded to Barnsley came down the middle when they played on the break and caught Wellens and Oakley out of position....

I fail to see how anyone can have a go about a left-back doing his job sufficiently when there's a perfectly shite right-back doing bugger all of any use.

i'd like to see gradel given a go in one of the next two home games. he can't do any worse then dyer and n'guessan did against newcastle

Bollux! I have often seen diametrically opposed views on here about a player from respected posters who go to nearly every game.

Super Andy King has been called up to Wales' senior team for their game against Russia after impressing for the U21s vs Italy.

Yeah, but it's only Wales :icon_wink

Joking aside, I can't fathom how King comes in for so much stick on here. He ain't that bad...........

ever since i have been going down the City, there has nearly always been a player in the side, who, to some of the fans can do nothing right. Currently that player is Andy King

He did plenty right last season. Scored some important goals, when he could be bothered to turn up to games.

i agree, but it may take a while for him to adjust to life in the championship.

I'm hoping he does, but for now he's overrated. I was astounded when he popped up in the Football League's 50 Best Players feature in FFT last season.

He scored a couple of absolute snorters for us too!

He's a young lad who never really got the chance to be eased in or sent out on loan, last season he played every week in a side that people expected to consistantly win and go on to claim the league title; which we did.

He just seems to be one of those who can go missing in a game, I don't think it's got anything to do with his raw talent or ability as a footballer but he does lack presence at the mo.

Exactly. Nothing to add to that. Except...
