That game against Burnley is starting to look bigger and bigger isn't it?

I think we might squeak 7th. We have seen this season that Burnley are quite capable of a long run without winning. They will not win every game, and we need to take advantage.

So, we approach the business end of the season with a Europa League and even 6th place still up for grabs.

There are I believe 4 teams who could populate those positions and they are:

Arsenal
Burnley
Leicester
Everton

Please see below all the fixtures involving these teams until the end of the season:

7/04
Leicester v Newcastle
Watford v Burnley
Arsenal v Southampton

Doomed already after next round when the U23s will need to play against Everton or Newcastle

We have a whole thread on thus already - 'end of season tally' :icon rolleyes:

If we win the remaining games which is possible if the team believe that they can do it. I believe that we can get 6th. The Arse have to play Chelsea, Man U and us. That could be 9 points dropped. Just win the remaining games and we are there.

Inspector Clouseau suggests that us having to play both Newcastle and Everton at the same time next Saturday might scupper our chances somewhat.
A scoop by Inspector Clouseau.....

We jump above Burnley but don’t catch Arsenal, the rest remains as is.

I'm still smarting from our opening day defeat at the Library. Winning with 7 minutes left and lost it.

Can't help feeling that the end of the season could show that to be a very costly 7 minutes.

That opening weekend defeat may yet prove crucial.........but every club will have a similar example, even Man City (Wigan in the FA Cup)

Just had a quick look at the Championship table and saw Sunderland still marooned in the relegation zone having lost at home again.

A club similar to ours in many ways, success (bar THAT seasons) fan base, yo-yo status and now looking in real trouble.

Multiple poor managerial appointments with a trigger happy chairman, no doubt compounded by poor player selection and recruitment.

It doesn’t hurt to look over your shoulder sometimes to reinforce just how ****ing well we have now done for five or so seasons.

Promotion followed by the great escape, followed by THAT season followed by a Champions League run, followed by a comfortable top 10 finish.

A good manager at the helm, a promising young squad and the chance to progress further over the summer and into the following season. 95% of other fans would give both their arms to be in the position we currently employ.

From an interview with Iborra: “We have to be ambitious and we arrive in seventh it will be good for us, but we have some very difficult games against some very string teams.

Does he mean they're a bit ropey?

I take it Sky think it will go to the wire seeing as our last game of the season will be Arsenal either that or the Gooners will get to the UEFA cup final.
