I never said that he didn't have great games and I never said he was a clown or that he gave the ball away all the time either, but he is and always has been clumsy and does get pushed off the ball and fall over far too easily (given his build, this has always seemed even more bizarre to me) breaking up too many promising attacks by doing so and always has done. I think the fact you say "at times" sums him up perfectly, he's always been a player who is great on his his day, but for me personally, his "day" doesn't come round nearly often enough.

Admittedly, he has never been a natural goalscorer, but I think you are underestimating how good he used to be at times (e.g., LCFC 5 Sunderland 2; Germany 1 England 5). You portray him as a clumsy clown who fell over and gave the ball away all the time. This is far from the truth.

the team needs to score 5 for him to get in the goals

Heskey was consistently excellent at City. He has been pretty consistent for England over the years. Obviously his goals ratio is piss-poor, but I do think you underestimate the man's performances in a City shirt. Villa fans are a collection of miserable gits at the best of times. Heskey didn't stand a chance with them.

Or maybe they said he was shit for them, because he was shit for them? :102:

DJ Campbell was shit for us but blossomed at Blackpool. Sometimes the club/players atmosphere/ethos just brings out the best in a player.

Interesting how most of Heskey's glowing references seem to be in the past tense. I for one would prefer to remember how good he used to be rather than find out the hard way how poor he may have become.
