Then he got sent off and hasn't had a decent run in the team since coming back from his suspension. I suspect it's about confidence, as it has been with him throughout his career. Under the right manager and with support from the fans I'm sure he'd do well.

To my mind Heskey has not been a prolific goalscorer since the last time we had him, and that's obviously some years ago now! I'd much rather have Yakubu, having said that, these things are not always that simple. Sometimes you have to go for the backup plan for various reasons and maybe that's what this is.
