Maybe they gave us another £50 million to make up for it and we said it's still not enough you have to also take Chilwell.

Tuchel didn't take long in hauling him off v Wolves

I agree with our model. I like the way we do things.

But to pick out a couple of your examples:
- We didn’t sign Ndidi until a bit after Kante left, so there was a period where we suffered without a replacement.
- Soyuncu and JJ were signed before the players they were replacing had left. If, as per the discussion above, Ndidi and Tielemans were to leave in the summer, who have we already bought to replace them?

As I say, I like the way we do things, but there comes a point where that’s increasingly difficult to do, especially when you’re replacing players to go straight in at the top end of the game.
To be glass half empty for a minute, problem is one year our transfer policy won’t work out, and we’ll buy some duffers or people who just don’t work out. And with BN’s “tick tock” narrative on Kasper and Vards we’re then pretty much doomed.

So at some stage we might need to buy some established players.

Or hold on to the ones we’ve established.

That’s also what I’m talking about. It’s easier said than done and gets harder as you move up the ladder.
