We looked surprisingly nervous at times, I would have thought we would be full of confidence at 2 - 0 and given our relative positions. Gray and Choudhury perhaps aren't the coolest heads for that situation. We have Schmichael to thank for his penalty heroics.

We’d have got that done in normal time if we had some players like Lucas Digne and Bernard.....

QF hoodoo finally put to bed

The BBC are just great aren't they?

"Jamie Vardy's penalty means Leicester stay on course for a first EFL Cup win in 19 years"

I cannot comment on the ;performance as I did not see the game. However, I was interested that Vardy took the last penalty. Since the last penalty involves the most pressure I have long advocated that it should be taken by the best penalty taker.

Statistical analysis shows that the first and the fourth penalty takers are the most critical to winning a shootout.

I was surprised that Vardy didn't take the first one. It told me that our penalty plan wasn't very scientific. Good job that Everton were terrible at it.

The fifth taker can often be irrelevant, as he was for Everton last night. Having your best penalty taker fifth is pretty dumb in my opinion.

Is the order set in stone before the shootout? Once both teams had missed one it was pretty likely that it would go to the fifth taker so maybe they just bumped Vardy down the order until it was the decisive kick.

Gray’s penalty was an absolute beauty.
