To be fair I think he would have been very happy here in the MON days, It would be after his departure that he may have played a few of those cards.

I quite like Shearer as a pundit. Agree on the rest though. Mark Lawrenson is just cringy every time he speaks.

Ever since he claimed that 'nobody has ever heard' of French international Hatem Ben Arfa prior to him moving to England, I've been wary of Shearer's 'punditry'. Apparently, because Shearer scored loads of goals, the BBC thinks he's a genius. He isn't, he's a ****ing moron. I challenge you to listen to five minutes of him speaking and not shout out 'what utter bollocks!' at least once.

I completely agree.

I think it was Shearer that also claimed Champions League winner Yaya Toure was a waste of money and no one really knew who he was upon his move to Man City.

I get the feeling Alan Shearer thinks anyone who hasn't played alongside Alan Shearer is a complete unknown. On the surface, it's bewildering that he was ever even considered for the role of manager at Newcastle given that his world football knowledge is virtually zero. In reality, it's less bewildering when you remember this is the club that has now twice employed Joe Kinnear, the only man in all of football with a lesser knowledge.
