Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

I get the feeling Alan Shearer thinks anyone who hasn't played alongside Alan Shearer is a complete unknown. On the surface, it's bewildering that he was ever even considered for the role of manager at Newcastle given that his world football knowledge is virtually zero. In reality, it's less bewildering when you remember this is the club that has now twice employed Joe Kinnear, the only man in all of football with a lesser knowledge.
Also the last club to give the managerial genius Graeme Souness a job. Incredibly mismanaged club.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

I think it was Shearer that also claimed Champions League winner Yaya Toure was a waste of money and no one really knew who he was upon his move to Man City.

A couple of ex-LCFC players/now pundits say that Shearer is easily the least professional/prepared in his MOTD work ie he doesn't watch a lot of the matches, merely asks what some of the other pundits thought of the game, then proceeds to regurgitate their thoughts when the cameras are on.

Cnut of the highest order - a view held by many in the game, as well as those not.

And to think that we came within a whisker of having the feckwit managing us. What a superb piece of work that was fecking him off.

Shearer not keen on there being too many French at his precious Club

All very unsurprising. It shows in the final product.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Moussa scored for Cov.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

O'Grady gets his name on the scoresheet.

Re: Ex-players (the thread nobody's been waiting for)

Richie Wellens off injured after 50 mins when Doncaster where 2 up away to Wigan (good for Joe). Wigan pulls one back imidiately.

All the reports I hear in South Yorkshire are that Wellens is playing well and making Doncaster tick.

EDIT He is on a short term contract but they want to sign him for longer. So I reckon he's after a slightly better Club to come along and give him a deal, but if not he'll carry on at Donny.

There is a takeover imminent at Donny Rovers. So they given him a short-term deal until the takeover goes through, then he will be given a long-term deal.

"the 27-year-old has struggled since his move from Leicester City last summer"

I think he was struggling before then.
