I think we all need to give Kelly a bit of assistance when it comes to his interviews. For a former journalist he has an extremely limited list of responses to fall back on.

I think he imagines himself as a Steve Coppell figure riding out all storms but in reality he's just driving us all nuts.

Any suggestions on what Kelly should actually be saying? We desperately need a cure for his smashingladitus.

Help!!!!

I think he should, instead of speaking, just do charades.

I think he needs to say "yer know" more times, 80 per 5 minute interview really isn't enough

I think something like

"I'm a smashing lad that always works hard on the training ground, but I am where I am and now it's time for someone else to take the job"

How about "Why bother with the interview? The whinging gits will just moan about whatever I say anyway" ;)

I don't really care what the manager says in his interviews. A poor result is a poor result, and whatever excuses or promises are made in a post-match interview doesn't change that.
All that matters is what he's saying to the players.

hes' still doing it.....

Kelly added: "We come away from the game disappointed. We wanted to see it out and maybe we should have been a bit more ruthless.

"But I suppose it shows how far we have come in such a short space of time. We have come away from home and got a point - although it feels like a defeat.
"The goals will have done Iain a lot of good and will have given him enormous confidence. He has stayed in the team because he also gives us the other side - he works very hard. But in the end you judge strikers on goals.

"We have played a lot better this season and not got anything out of the game. There were periods when we didn't play as well as we know we can.

"But we showed great spirit and resilience. We should also give Southend credit for that. They never gave up and made it very difficult for us.

"There are certainly having a right good go for their manager and supporters."
