Merchant is so much funnier than Gervais and Extra's just proves it I think. The only parts of tonights episode I laughed at were with Merchant. Him chatting up Maggie was classic

Bit laboured and obvious in places - apart from Merchant and the toilet which the only genuinely funny bit in it

I think they're all going a little too far every week. Like Moyles said this morning, they're a bit unrealistic which makes them less funny

I finally watched last weeks episode last night and thought it was very funny! I have to agree though that sometimes its that unrealistic that it does take away from the comedy.

I watched aswell last night, I laughed at some bits but others I found rubbish, Gervais at the end of the play for example it was a half-baked joke and seemed like it never really 'fitted'.

Merchant is the genius of the two confirmed by him going to the toilet with a whisk and a plastic bag.

I think they have written it so that Merchants character comes off as the funny one. Just because Merchant has been given all the funny sketches doesnt mean it is him how writes them!
