If it is indeed a glass off piss, surely it being half empty rather than half full would be the optimist's view?

To be honest, I wouldn't be feeling all that optimistic knowing that I had half a glass of piss to drink

Beckford ... Lost for words. I was more of a threat sat in the stands than he was in front of goal. He showed one glimpse of magic and then smashed over from the break.

He wasn't trying at all, not even approaching 'his hardest'. Clearly doesn't want to be here.

Im normally a supporter of Beckford but im afraid you must have been watching a different game today, he was utterly inept in ever department, infact I remember quite clearly him even managing to tackle himself twice in the first half.

I have wanted Beckford to succeed too and have been in the 'he'll come good soon' camp since he signed. However he gives me nothing to continue to hold out hope. If he can't be arsed to jump for a header or make a forward run then he shouldn't be at the club. Another awful signing from Ericsson.

Beckford was pretty useless to be honest, shown glimpses of a good player but looked as if he couldn't be bothered and generally made Trevor Benjamin look like an amazing striker.

Alan Young got flak for saying similar to the above.

The most annoying thing is that Young was fairly appreciative of Beckford today and if you lot are correct then Young was only being that way because of 'pressure'. He should have stuck to what he believed rather than giving false impressions.

Heard a lot of reports of people wearing LCFC colours (I won't call them supporters) behaving like complete and utter ****s. Three things definitely happened: people pissing in the Trent, people throwing coins at Forest fans, people verbally abusing both Forest and Leicester fans and others both before and after the game. There were a lot of people I've never seen before there today. Apparently some people don't know how to behave at football.

The behaviour of a few in the police escort back to the station was very bad. People sitting in their cars seemingly having not been to the game, being swore at and having their windows hit and spat on.

I don't agree that Beckford isn't trying or that he doesn't want to be here... The problem is that he doesn't look an inch the player he was at Leeds. He actually looks like someone who has lost his ability like those Allstars in spacejam who have it stolen. He looks as baffled as us fans when he messes up. Personally I'll put it down to confidence, the most severe case possible.

I was supporting Beckford all the time but there is no hiding that it was a pretty shocking performance really. Irrespective of how much we paid for him or how much a week he is on, some of the mistakes he was making really were schoolboy - falling over the ball a couple of times, generally awful control and gives away many needless freekicks.

I'm not a 'hater' of him at all as I'd love him to start scoring for us the way he did at Leeds and he did show glimpses of a good player but he is far from the finished article on todays showing.

We played with 10 men after Schlupp went off. Yes, he was that bad. He wasn't alone though, King was almost as bad and Gallagher had a mare.

Who was our substitute wearing No 36? I've never seen him before. He looks a bit like Gary Cahill.
Beckford has had a confidence implosion and as a result his decision making has gone haywire.
Konchesky is our most consistent player and had another very solid game. Wellens certainly helped us control possession better when he came on.

What does it MEAN??

At first I thought they must be singing about all of the City supporters renouncing their UK citizenship, it's all over the news you must've seen it, but then I realised the lyrics would've been "you're not British any more" if that's what it was. So I don't know what it might mean.

On the Beckford debate, I think there can only really be two explanations for his poor performances. That is if you accept that he has ability and talent as a striker.

1. That he signed for us against his will because Everton wanted to get rid and Sven was desperate to buy him. He was offered a ludicrous amount to sign and he did so on the advice of his Agent and all parties but against his own wishes. His subsequent impact since joining would be in keeping with a player who was effectively forced to be here.

2. That he's a good player bereft of confidence and that this confidence is being further eroded weekly by a combination of poor personal performances and general negativity around the club and certain players such as him. He is a player that seems to be less than average unless his self belief is high.

NP is defending Beckford in public and keeping him as part of the squad. NP will also be well aware of which of the above applies. As a result, I can only deduce that the second option is correct and that Beckford needs support and encouragement. Therefore, I'll continue to offer this to him until such time as anything changes in the hope that we eventually see the player we know he can be.

Good result.
