if its free for season ticket holders ill probably go otherwise ill most likely miss it, we cant create an atmosphere with almost 23k so were not going to manage one with about 9k

Let me guess, they want to charge normal league match prices? Yeah, that won't lower the attendance figure at all.

Stevenage know their fans will go to the game however much it costs, and they'll probably prefer a smaller crowd if the overall gate income is the same.

I'm sure the last time there was a disagreement like this the FA/league had to make the decision, and they agreed with Leicester's pricing policy.

Sadly you're right. Very little of the money from the Premier$hip has trickled down the leagues, and that coupled with the ITV Digital fiasco encouraged a culture of ripping the fans off as much as possible among the lower league clubs. Now it's now just something they're used to doing at every opportunity.

Stevenage fans pay £15 to sit at home matches. They will pay a similar amount to sit at other Conference venues. Presumably their club feels that they would be happy to pay more to be present at their 'cup-final'. As Jeff suggests, whatever is charged Stevenage fans will be there.

On the other hand, City season-ticket holders pay from about £13 a game; non-season-ticket holders pay from £23. They will want to pay less than that to watch non-league opposition. Hence the £10/£15 proposal from lcfc - to charge any more than this is likely to reduce the number of City fans attending.

I could bore you with some analysis of projected attendance figures - but I won't. My conclusion is though that Stevenage Borough are not looking to make money out of this tie; rather to maximise the proportion of their own fans in the attendance in the hope that it will spur their team to win the tie.

What the FA decide will depend on the arguments that the clubs put forward; the decision may not be the same as before.

As you have already indicated, Stevenage fans would pay almost any amount of money to be here. The conclusion is then that Stevenage are hoping to price the home fans out of attending.

Cynical manipulating bastards :icon_bigg
