As I said...I can't keep up. I'd forgotten that game even existed.

So had I to be honest. I cannot remember it at all, which is a surprise, as it looks like, on paper, we came very close to an FA Cup semi-final.

I reckon we have a good chance at these. It’s about time we made the last four at least.

All left in the comp are thinking Man City a the standout team left.

They won’t, and we won’t, ok?

Well, I did start my sentence with IF! You're right though, it will obviously be a different game and who tf knows which teams will turn up on the day but, yes, the chances of repeat performances are slim.

My point really was one of a difference in intensity (sorry to sound all Puel like); Chelsea v Liverpool was real high energy stuff for most of the game, Leicester v Birmingham was for the most post dull and pedestrian. It's true that Birmingham sat deep and played (well) on the counter and we struggled to break them down, but there seemed little desire or creativity to find a way through. Instead we got a lot of patient possession, passing the ball across the back seemingly hoping for Birmingham to gift us an opening.

I openly laughed at one point when one of the commentators (perhaps Birtles) remarked that Leicester were known for taking chances in attack (or words to that effect); I thought 'I wish'!

Perhaps against Chelsea, who do play a more open style of football, we may get more space and be able to exploit it - but I have to say that I was impressed with the speed of their play, there willingness to close the opposition down quickly, the pressing high up the field (in short, there 'intensity') and I do genuinely believe we struggle against teams that do that. They don't even need to be particularly talented teams (which Chelsea are) but just show commitment and urgency.

There's a few weeks to go though, enough time to recover a bit of confidence and swagger in our play.

We've been at this lark for a century now: playing Chelsea in cup competitions (first time was in 1920).

We've faced Chelsea six times before in the FA Cup - they've won every time.

We've faced Chelsea four times in the League Cup - they've won every time.

Even just since the year 2000, they've knocked us out of the FA Cup three times and the League Cup twice.

In all competitions, we've won two of our last twenty matches against them.

It does both feel like they are our bogey side and the side we owe a beating to most.

We should have beaten them at the beginning of the season we were unlucky. We were the better side last month and should have won, Barnes missed a sitter all in all we are a better side and we will win!
We look an absolute shadow of the side at the start of the season BM, don't kid yourself.
