I went to the 1982 game at Villa Park. The first game I'd been at by myself (apart from the other 35,000 people there at the same time).

Not mine, was at VIlla Park all those years ago. Criminal we haven't been back until now, however this time we are going through to the final, I can feel it in my water.

Same here... and the street battles after the game terrified me as an 8 year old. Hiding in someone’s front garden while people tried to kill each other in the street has never left me.

I only saw the ball if it was kicked really high. I climbed up the wall at the side of the stand. There was enough room between the wall and the canopy to fall the 100' to your death. The police arrived swiftly to offer safety tips.

Know what you mean. Partly, I suspect, because empty stadiums etc have changed the shape of the competition. It's kinda like following a chess competition in the newspaper, it seems devoid of relevance.
