Worthington/ Weller close call for me.

Same here for me. Those of us of a certain age will probably say the same thing.

Of recent years as has been said I can't really say anyone for some time comes anywhere close since the likes of MON players like Walsh/Elliott/Lennon/Heskey/Pontus left us I suppose Muzzy came closest and other than say Dickov in his first spell with us there hasnt been anyone. Ferdinand/Bent could have been but didn't stay long enough.

Iwan Roberts for me.

i think ive cocked me own thread up,what i was trying to imply that leicester has for years had quality players who us fans can relate to,hence walsh, izzet, mcallister etc

that special player other teams would like to have, the name on the back of the shirt you wore with pride, that was the point i was trying to make.

for the last 5 years we have not had that special player or players we can actually say is the tops.

the only player i think comes close was lee hendrie, and he was not even ours.

i really feel sorry for the kids, mine are not quite ready yet to understand, which is probaly a blessing.

but hopefully in a couple of years i can buy my lad and daughter a top with the next lineker on

It was a good point - completely misunderstood by everyone

So, if you can't beat 'em

Errr....Lenny Glover

A little known defender from the early 1960's called Ian White. (whooooo?)

Or Frank Worthington.

Loved Weller but preferred Wortho

Youngy

many central defenders Larry May, Walshie, Elliot

Stuart Hamill - always preferred him to Loinacre in the ressies/youth team

Wallington because he did his job without the need for glory

He turned out on a Sunday for Saffron Dynamo of which I was a (lets say) squad player in the Hinckley league a few years ago.

Obviously he was also a class above, but we also has Simon Newcombe who was a youth teamer with the city.

oh tommy!
