I know it wasn't the greatest performance and we got dicked, but the character of Filbo could be seen the season we were relegated due to a 5-1/0 thumping by Man Utd. For the last 20 minutes of the game, we all knew we were sunk and down, the ground stood and everybody chanted 'Stand Up if you love Leicester'. The noise and atmosphere generated in those miserable minutes completely transcend anything I've heard at the WS/KP.

We lost that game 1-0.

This was the team that day
Ian Walker
Gary Rowett
Frank Sinclair
Matt Elliott
Lee Marshall
Callum Davidson
Stefan Oakes
Matthew Piper
Robbie Savage
Brian Deane
Paul Dickov

It was 4-1 defeat to them 2 seasons later but by then we were at the Walkers

Sounds like 1995. It was a 4-0 thumping at Filbo by the Manks that put us down. From memory they were 3-0 at half time and didn't do an Arsenal on us in the 2nd half - condescending c****

Had forgotten about that one, I was actually there for it, I think as my farewell game to Filbo? Was an amazing atmosphere.

Was it only 1-0? I must be confusing two games, because I remember watching us get a complete 5-0 shafting by United one season. It may not have been the relegation season though.

The season they relegated us and the whole ground was singing when it was clear we would be relegated it was 1-0. April 2002.

Micky Adams took over for the rest of the season and we drew the next three, before beating Spurs in the last league match at Filbert Street.

There have been lots of big home defeats over the years by Man Utd. 4-1 in 2003, 3-0 in 2000, 6-2 in 1999, 4-0 in 1995.

Hattricks from Van Nistelrooy and Sheringham in 2003 and 2000 respectively, if I remember correctly.

I don't think you do. Solskjaer got the third right at the end.

I was nine or ten years old Boc, their names sound pretty similar, I wasn't too far off :icon_bigg

That 1 - 0 defeat by Manure, was the one and only time that "stand up if you love Leicester " was effective. (IMO;))

From what I remember nearly every Leicester fan stood up on the day, hairs stood up on the back of my neck.
Then it just got milked to death! :(

The bloke who made it is on the Radio Mongie phone in tonight

Let that be a lesson to you - the poor bastard didn't deserve that
