I would rather see George Formby in the team than O'Grady...

Disagree with you both, give CO'G a chance he has an eye for goal and proved it last night. I know you are going to say it was only Boston we were playing but it will have boosted his confidence and championship goals will come if Kelly doesn't listen to you and plays him.

DesertFox said:To add to the O'Grady debate, from what I've seen (which is admittedly not too much) he looks OK to me.
I also gather that whatever he lacks in natural talent (not saying he's a complete donkey, just that he's not the most gifted player to ever take the field) he will more than make up for in terms of effort, dedication and commitment, which are highly desirable attributes for any footballer.
Imagine someone like Ryan Smith, or Gareth Williams for that matter, having an attitude like that....
It's the equation I like to use in life and work.Boy Genius said:I could give that week in week out, it vary rarely makes a bad footballer good though. Look at our old No. 22....

The amount of effort you put in, must equate to the results and rewards that you get out.
Dickov, Connolly, Tiatto lots of effort and commitment, but very little reward. = Ineffective
Bryan Robson, Steven Gerrard, Savage, Owen etc, lots of effort, lots of reward = Effective
Glen Hoddle, Jan Molby, Thierry Henry, Zidane, Muzzy, Lineker = less effort, more reward. = Very Effective.
I think we are guilty as fans of idolising a player because of the effort he puts in, often this can just be a drain on resources
