Walshy was one of my idols as a kid, but it's not a case of him just commentating on the club which is fine. It's the way he tries to get into every photo opportunity and everything related to the club in every way. I mean what does Steve Walsh really need to be doing in a song sung by current players, sung because of current success? It just seems to me a bit desperate to re-kindle his old memories to me tbh.

And that's not to mention his endless egotistical commentary on RL and articles in the Mercury. "when I was playing, I did this" every other break in commentary. It's just very undignified.

If the club invited him fair enough, but I think the majority of people would have realised the club has moved on since then and politely turned down the offer. It's not something he really should be involved in, seeing as it's supposed to be celebrating the success of the current side. It's just got a feel of David Brent about it.

Where have you gotten the idea Soar Media where instrumental in organising the event or that he he may have been a co-starter? Sounds like total speculation based on the fact they wrote an article on it, as they do with almost every City event.

I suspect the club wanted him there. As they seem to want him involved with the club. From what I can make out his Soccer School as LCFC branded kit (can you confirm Ch4mbo).

But then again I may be worng and he hosts a Executive Lounge before each game without the club knowing about it. :icon_wink
