If Choudhury's role is to tear about the pitch, hassling the opposition, winning the ball and laying it off to a blue shirt then that's OK. If he's expected to sit in front of the back four and anticipate danger that's not good. Mendy is the opposite, they're like weather people. Ndidi can do both, very well.
