That's why planting them in the ground is good, you can keep earthing them up, after planting them in furrows.
Spuds are a great way to break the soil up too, it's more than just the initial cropping

Bumper crop of damsons this year.
Spent the day jamming and bottling vodka/gin and an experimental cocktail of tequilla and whiskey.
Tomorrow is chutney day.

Bloody little white flies on me brussels....
Runner beans still producing and flowering, great harvest this year

I've got the little bastards on all my brassicas, anybody know how to get rid of them?

Remarkably easy to grow. Plant the seeds indoors and cover until they germinate. Once big enough, separate into pots and let them grow. Once they start to flower, you need to put them outside so that the bees etc can do their work.

I bought a pot kit from Tesco for 1.99 and have had 50+ green chillies from the plants so far.

Untrue. I am fully aware of the five regional accents in Engerland.....Worzels, Cockneys, Brummies, Scousers and Geordies.
You're all in there somewhere.

Like the dwarves, there are seven true accents

Brummie - whingey
Scouse/Geordie - whiney
Manc/Yorkshire - moany
Cockney - fighty
Worzel - dopey
Leicester - radio call-in phoney
And Nigella Lawson
