to be fair darren moore on a free in league 1 is probably a good deal. i would imagine the majority of teams at that level would take him. he is exactly the type of player who thrives at this shite standard. how old is he??

He's 84 next month

shame, he's a good footballer and i hope he gets a decent time with ipswich, he's done alot of work to get up through the leagues

Just been on the Ipswich site at the bbc and they seem to think they have a gem for the supposed £1.5m they paid. They are in for a major disappointment IMO- Good at heading the ball and always gives 100% but has no pace and cannot pass. Also looked very vunerable without Kisnorbo. Good bit of business.

good job he had a good game at Portman Road...

how many goals did we concede with MacCauley on the pitch?

I think £1.5m is a good price for him. Was decent, but not amazing and too often got caught out for lack of pace and made mistakes I think.

Not happy to see him go, but not too disappointed either.

Glad the twat has gone, useless tosser. Cost us points last season that would have kept us up

Will you say that when Hume goes after missing that penalty?
We had one of the lowest goals conceded, the fault lays at the door of the strikers and midfield IMO.

Exactly, every player has to take a certain blame for the drop obviously but McAuley was not one of the worst.

No, no, no - you haven't got the hang of this at all, have you ?

With Moore, N'Gotty and Worley in our squad we are clearly much better off without him :icon_roll

He'll do well at Ipswich - they like to build play from the back - and that's what McAuley tried to do when he first came here, before he learnt that hit and hope are our only tactics.

So there goes the first player and the question now is how more will follow?
