No offence Macky but that is just the typical knee jerk liberal response, Israel bad/Hamas good.
There have been numerous peace processes over the years which have been constantly sabotaged by muslim extremists. The Gaza strip was handed over by Israel in 2005 and has been used by Hamas ever since to launch rockets into Israel, which will now lead to Israel re-occupying at least part of it.
Any organisation that wasn't bent on matyrdom/had some brains would have accepted the land given, built up trust and then asked for some more.
No country Christian, Muslim, Jewish or secular would negotiate with a knife to it's throat.

The difference is that Hamas are the ruling party in The Gaza Strip, the IRA were just a terrorist organisation.

One thing I wouldn't do is is use my own civilians as human shields.

What's the point of swapping quotes that both sides will deny as propaganda? It's been widely reported in the media that that is the case. As neither you nor I live there I will take their word for it.
The whole 'Israel's killed 500 Hamas has only killed 4' argument is pathetic. If Hamas had the weapons to murder thousands of Israelis do you honestly believe they wouldn't use them?
Just because Hamas' weapons aren't very good doesn't make them plucky underdogs, have a go heroes. They are genocidal religious fanatics deliberately provoking a response so they can portray themselves as matyrs.
