Hamas are the democratically elected leaders of the Palestinians in Gaza.
There's no evidence that they are genocidal fanatics and why would they provoke a response from one of the most powerful militaries on the globe when they could be utterly destroyed? There's no logic to that at all.

It was the Israelis that broke the current cease fire and the Hamas response is entirely understandable, albeit futile.

the logic that Hamas are "terrorists" is flawed. terrorists are just people with weapons without public instruction from a state. you could argue that nobody is a terrorist or that the americans are terrorists. using it as an argument is relying on a vague word (q.v. "natural") if anything, Hamas, being elected, are not terrorists but a state making an act of war by firing upon a neighbour

also the question of whose land it is is just a matter of history, humans didn't spontanteously appear on earth at all points. we are lucky that we live on an island, it helps with boundary disputes

what matters is not killing innocent people and Israel are certainly doing that

personally, i lay a lot of blame at the USA's door, for funding Israel, vetoing all UN resolutions critical of Israel and creating the damn mujahideen mindset
