Am I the only one that read Joey Barton's comments about Newcastle and thought about our own problems? High expectations and a crowd quick to turn, boo, jeer, isolate and criticise 'unpopular' players, and leave the ground befor the end of the game.

The crowd should be getting behind the team, behind the players and contribute to our chances of success rather than detracting from them. You only have to look at our home form to see the impact it's had.

How about so called professionals doing the job they are paid ludicrous amounts of money for and showing some pride, passion, and dare I say, it skill.

If everytime you went out on the pull you punched a girl in the tits it is highly unlikely that you'll end the night with a decent gobjob.

Moreover, you'll soon get a reputation as a tit-puncher and no other talent will come near you on future tit-punching weekends.

No matter how much the damn woman gets paid.

Idiots.

Your not the only one, your completely right and I think some of the 'fans' of this football club should be ashamed of themselves.

That's the problem.

Shaun Newton smashing the ball into the roof of the north stand rather than the net from 15 yards out with no keeper in sight in the opening stages of the southamton match. How the **** can anyone get behind that.

This is like pulling teeth.

No one is saying cheer Newton when he miskicks the ball - just don't f*cking boo him.

How tough a concept is that? :102:

So the crowd should just become passive observers when certain players play shit week in week out?

I felt that the crowd's reaction to Cort was totally unacceptable because: he's hardly played many matches for us and he's only just getting back from injury and therefore not match fit.

But Newts, he's a disgrace. I've never seen him complete a decent 90 minutes for us. The Brum match last season he was only decent in the 2nd half.

I think this is a really simple one:

a) jeering. Creates a bad atmosphere. Nobody likes it. Demotivates team. Loses points. Everyone goes home unhappy.

b) cheering. Creates a good atmosphere. Everyone likes it. Motivates team. Wins points. Everyone goes home happy.

Or maybe I'm just some sort of tree hugging hippy dolphin lover....

Not sure if Newcastle is the best example to try and emulate overall, but this seems like sense to me. Attending home games is like entering this arena of Statler & Waldorfs. No wonder other teams like coming to Leicester.

I think we should boo the team onto the pitch. Maybe throw some rotten veg too. And at least one fan every match should be allowed to run down the touchline to throw his season ticket at Holloway's feet.

If everyone started booing Hume how long do you think it would take him to work it out? Two months? Three?

I reckon some of these so called suppoters lead such crap lives that when they finish "work" on a Friday think "oh well at least I can take it out on Newton/Stearman/etc/etc cos their crap and I don't like 'em........but I can make up for it by shouting Huuuummmeee at the top of my voice when he misses a sitter from 4 yards"

Easy team talk for visiting teams "Hold them out for 20mins, crowd will get on their backs, go for the win...... Oh, and if Corts playing forget the 20mins bit"

I am not one of these blind supporters saying we should be cheering crap, but booing has nothing but a negative effect. Something that would have a massive effect would be silence, final whistle goes and everybody stands up and leaves, no clapping, jeering.

I'm just glad that a manager has told the fans what a bunch of feckless morons they are at times.

It does my head in when you hear "they pay their money, they can do what they want" coming from a manager.

Problem is its become all too easy (and fashionable IMO) to boo and criticise Leicester players without offering anything constructive.

These forums & the phone in's are the place to barrack players, not at the games when no matter how bad they are playing, or how bad they actually are in some cases, 99.9% of players are trying 100%.

Amazingly, those players low on confidence like Cort, might actually improve if they got some backing.

Agree, they are all human, would you try your hardest for somebody if all they did was give you sh*t :102:

Like I said earlier I think Newton and Cort are awful footballers but I would never boo them and if I went I'd be there to support my team, booing etc isn't offering support IMO.Didn't read what Hollway said but there are genuine supporters who have had to sit through a lot of passionless, drab shite for quite a while now doesn't excuse the booing but might explain the frustration

Part of the problem is some people have made their mind up before they even get to the ground.
