It was something to do with the steel used. Apparently from what I remember the problem could be fixed at a cost.

Maybe they are just too scared because of the last Mace-Stock.

Quite correct Babylon, we can have a concert but with a very limited capacity, something between 12-14,000 from memory.

If the work went ahead this would increase to the early 20,000's, one end of the ground and a bit of each side close to that end would not be open as they would be behind the temporary stage.

The last gigs were cancelled due to poor sales regardless of any spin put around at the time.

If they look at a concert again, it's more likely they won't go for self promoting, but just take a venue hire fee from a promoter instead' Less potential revenue, but removes risk.

Would expect the new Commercial Director once settled in to look at this one, particularly as she comes from a media selling background, will ask her about it next time we see her.

Well everyone, I don't like to say I told you so.... but.... TOLD YA!!!!!!

Surely though a band like Kasabian, would love to be able to do a couple of gigs in their home city and the Walkers would be an ideal venue, 12 - 14 k would no doubt sell out in no time. Hardly fecking rocket science.

i for one get pissed off with driving to the NEC all the time its a wasted opportunity IMO or should i say another one

The problem is, it would be a crap gig with 14k in the Walkers, they would be lost!!

See what you mean, it would be like a saturday afternoon under Levein :icon_lol:

with the pitch filled this wouldnt look as empty as a game would 14,000 would generate a good atmosphere IMO

Stadium Gigs are shite IMO anyway...
May as well stick the CD on and put a picture of the band at the end of your Garden

probably goes against you indie principles HF :icon_bigg
but a stadium gig on a summers evening after a few gallon of ale is a most enjoyable way to spend an evening
