Won toss and elected to bat.

What chance of getting past 10 without losing wicket?!

High risk policy of only 3 seamers (& 2 sub standard at that!)... Harris, White & Benning. Strange selection. Where are Buck, Cliff, Gurney, Wyatt etc???

Nixon opening the batting appears to have worked he hung around for a while and had a couple of good partnerships.

Taylor top scorer again

332-8 at the close

Boyce injured according to the OS. Surprised Benning didn't open with Nixon in the middle order, but it was successful anyway.

Taylor is a class act, he is making important runs and not just easy ones.

Injuries and rotation of very young players.

However, I sense that the management has got slightly concerned about the degree of criticism which has been mounting thus the recall of Nixon to try to shore up the batting and the statements about bringing in some experience for next season.

It's not going to look to brilliant for the powers that be if we finish rock bottom of CC2 and Pro-40 (2)

368 all out Taylor left on 83no

Glous 26-2 Harris with both

4 bowlers used in the first 7 overs with Henderson bowling the 2nd over

Nixon out for a 31 ball duck, lol.

18/3 so we're in a bit of trouble. A 400 run target would be handy if we can recover.

49/5 with just Benning and Taylor of the batsmen left. The pitch clearly deteriorated quickly today and Dippenaar didn't fancy us batting last, although I doubt he expected us to capitulate like that :icon_roll

2nd innings was a cockup but hopefully have enough on this pitch, although never confident with this attack. 116/3, Harris with another two.
