Yes, because of his jaw-dropping, historically-unparralleled goals to games ratio. I'm not saying for one moment he's a crap player, but let's not jizz ourselves. He's a decent, championship striker, and nothing more. He's not a Danny Graham, a Grant Holt, a Ricardo Vaz Te, or a Ricky Lambert.

Hold on a second. Did I say he was Championship player of the season?

Nope, I didn't...no need for the snarkiness is there chum?

Incidentally, he's a decent Championship striker with years on his side, an England Cap, and has spent a few seasons in the prem.

I never said he was Rickie Lambert or anyone or has been amazing, in fact I said no one has been consistent this season and everyone has had their fair share of stinkers, but he's still been our player of the season for me.

Not sure about their choices for goal of the season... Think it could've just been a Gally vs Marshall video! Don't see why Konchesky's got in there.

I'd go for Marshall's, partly because of the quality of the opposition. Gally's against Palace is a close runner though. Then Nuge vs Watford.

Player of the season, definitely Schmeichel for me. I think he's been very good for a lot of the season. Nugent would take second place. That's not a surprise for me, as I thought they were our best summer signings and I think they've been good for us this year and expect them to a big part of the team next season..
3rd place? Hard to pick anyone. Maybe Danns since Pearson came back/in the second half of the season?

Young player, I think it's almost Schlupp by default. Marshall might steal it late on though.

Has to be Gally's goal

Nah I have to say Marshall by a long way. Biggest game of his career and he opened his account for us with an absolute world beater that was so good one of the best keepers in the world didn't even bother diving. If he doesn't get it, it'll be a travesty. Quite surprised he only had one on the shortlist.

Do you think it was bigger than playing in the JPT final at Wembley?

Erm....Yes, by quite a long way. Playing at Wembley is a big deal but the JPT isn't exactly what you dream of in football. Playing in the Quarter Final of the FA Cup against Cheslea would beat that I reckon by quite some distance.

Definitely

He may also go through his entire career never playing against players of the calibre of Torres, Cech, Mata et al (although I think he will end up in the PL). I see what you're saying but I would personally have ranked that game higher than the JPT final. The only way we could settle this would be to ask him.

I'm sure when he's an old man he'll be proud to show his grandkids his FA cup quarter final losers medal, while he probably binned his JPT winners medal.

I'm torn. Marshall's was a beautiful goal but the skill from Dyer and Danns was sublime - much harder angles in my opinion - but **** what do I know?

I'm sure he'll definitely be telling his grand kids how he scored a pearler against one of the best keepers in the world.....provided he doesn't get alzheimers. They won't give a crap about the JPT medal
