Very happy with the progress made and hat off to Milan for Putting NP in charge....

Well if we need 2 points per match for automatic promotion we are well on course at the half-way mark.

In fact another 41 points from 23 games would get us to this target of 92 points, which is 13 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats (obviously other permutations). That should be more than achievable based on what we have seen to date.

Coming down for the New Year, so will be going to the Cup game on the 3rd.

Well done so far, Nigel and team, but let's not get carried away until we are over the finish line!

The verdict from the Arizona jury...

:038: :038: :038:

I fully expected us to be doing something like Leeds have so far, patchy but able to turn it around. Considering the state of the club when he arrived, Nige has steadied the ship with the minimum of fuss. He's doing a great job, there's no denying it. Top bloke!

Very happy with things at the mo.

Fully expecting a dip in form at sometime though. What bothers me about that is how we react to it. If we lose a couple on the trot would we sink into the same despair and lack of motivation we've seen over the last few seasons? I still get nervous - I'm just not used to us winning!

My cup may be half full but that's because somone pissed in it!

The team is doing exactly as I expected. League 1 is shite with only about 10 average teams at best and the rest are a steaming pile of shite. That said we can only beat what is put out in front of us and have done so on a regular basis so well done so far.

Would still like to see a half decent goalkeeper here though, someone who will marshall the defence at set-pieces and actually catch a cross rather than punch almost everything.

Martin only punched once yesterday by my memory

Paddy Kenny or Lee Camp would do nicely!

Well done to Nigel Pearson and his staff for finally putting pride back on the map at the Walkers. We (somehow) have a team who have balance, consistency and guile as well as skill and goal scoring forwards.
We (somehow) have players like Tunchev, Dyer, Howard, Oakley and Fryatt who all look a class above, as well as Morrison, King, Davies etc who all look the part.
We have quietly gone about the business of winning football matches, of playing attractive football and of having more than one idea.
All this without Hume, Kisnorbo, n'Gotty, Kishishev, Mattock (on the whole), and all the other donkeys grazing at Whaddon Road.
We have exceeded my expectations - not sure when I last thought that about a LCFC side, probably when we won at Chelski with Twatty Taylor in charge...
The future looks bright.

Paddy Kenny can **** right off, I hate that ****.

He's on the transfer list. But that's cos he's been turning up for training pissed.

Happy with how things are going so far.( Being top how could we not be?) I was apprehensive that we wouldn't get a good start and so would jostling around with the pay off teams but NP has brought in some astute signings and the team spirit that was so clearly missing last season is there and that is a major part of the form so far this season.

Still think we need another midfielder, if only for cover.

As a complete year it's the worst in the history of the club, and one that has left some rather deep scars on the club and it's fans. It was rife with moments of misery, despair, anguish and depression.

Ian Holloway is a complete bastard.

With that said, and talking more specifically about this seasonNigel Pearson has done an absolutely tremendous job of turning around a completely beleagured side. It feels great to win games again and long may it continue. Now is the time to put our foot on the throats of the teams around us and finish them off. I'd love to be 15+ clear by February.

REPORT:
I have no doubt that Pearson and his backroom staff have been key to Leicester's very good position. Having seen Leeds and Forest flounder in this division for quite some time I was hoping to finish about tenth this season - with a promotion push the following season to build on finishing relatively high in their first season in division one. Infact, as we can all see it's very much looking like we will make it this season.

You do have to attribute a lot to the manager. He has placed motivation, discipline and 'fire-in-the-bellies' of players where there was once the absolute opposite qualities. It is not enough to recruit one or two good players - previous managers did that too - you have to get the best out of them. Pearson's doing it, his recent predecessors didn't.
It absolutely helps to make one or two very good signings and Pearson has done that too.

What I also like about Pearson is that he addresses weaknesses quickly. In the first few games it became apparent that 2 wingers - after initial promise -was turning out to be a luxury we couldn't afford and they placed too much of a burden on Oakely and especially young Andy King. So he brought Berner and then Davies in. Contrast that with Holloway for example where we saw the forward line as weakest and what did he do... kept the only guy who might score (Hume) on the wing until it was too late.

But as I say, the main contrast with other managers and Pearson is not only team selection but discipline and motivation. Well done to all, because the players have responded to the challenges and opportunities to do well.

Are you for real? :102: Or did you mean 'expecting' rather than 'hoping'.?
