IMHO this is the best pub in the area.The Hammersmith Ram (yep...have to grin & bear that one I'm afraid!!) Just round the corner from the Apollo:

Has the atmosphere of an actual boozer rather than the usual London 'oh so terribly cool' bar.

Motorhead any good then? what with Lemmys injury, i'm hoping it holds out as i'm due to see these in Plymouth on monday. I've seen ANWL loads of times and they don't always live up to expectations,were the Subs any good? , i think they have only got a half hour slot on monday.

The Subs were ****ing brilliant, seriously brilliant (with the proviso that you actually have to like them to begin with). A full run down of all the best stuff minus C.I.D. Charlie Harper is 66 years old.

Motorhead started loud and got louder as they ran through the same setlist they played at Wolverhampton, kicking off with air-raid sirens and Bomber. Lemmy had to break off to have his finger seen to near the end of the set. A new dressing before the encore and he just lifted a harmonica for Whorehouse - but finishing off with AOS and an extended Overkill. We saw the best display of drumming I've ever witnessed at any gig ever - and I've seen more than a couple.

Hope they make it down to Plymouth for you - it was worth it that much that I'm considering popping over to Nottingham on Thursday night.

Well worth the drive up,The Subs were blindin',ANWL were better than i expected (but watching Animal is painful!) and Motorhead were excellent!.

The only gripes were £25 for a t-shirt (a mate bought 2 from the touts outside after for £15 ,3 colour with back and front prints after a bit of haggling),below par pa and the hall was very shallow.

The same set as all the other gigs,i'd do it again no question.

Just got back from Nottingham and I spent the entire ANL set in the bar.

Did you see the price of hoodies? Fifty ****ing quid! People bought them too!

I'm off to see the subs do a decent set in Tamworth soon - by far the highlight from tonight.
