I don't think anyone is talking MdV down here, but there's no denying that we looked our season-best as an attacking unit against the Blades last week, and the 4 goals don't lie. MdV has come good, and definately has a role to play, but particularly with Stoke's defence is not the best option for this match.

I went to the Watford game away, and that was rated as one of our better performances, but keeping the same team a few days later at home, we were cack!

i know but it wasnt so much a performance but a revelation and according to a leeds fan i know we were just as good against them

true we played well unlucky not to get a draw

I think Elvis and Hume have some unfinished business, their performance against the Blades was terriffic. We need to see that level of performance again and soon. If they do it again tonight, MDV will have to wait his turn. It will come, it always does.

Not long ago some folk were writing them all off. We have seen what they can do, now we need some consistency from all of them.

3 degrees C tonight, amlost tropical.

I agree, although I reckon MDV may have scored more than Elvis given the same amount of chances!

Rule #1 of managing anything: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Start with the team that beat the Blades. (with Stearman for McCarthy)

I think CL should of took my advice:mad:
We could do worse than play Hammond on the right wing and Hume&MDV up front but I loathe to constantly keep changing the side.

i thought they were pretty good for the majority of the 2nd half.

I thought the 2 played well together, not sure why all the drop syllia remarks tho, is he a fans target alongside devries?

he doesnt get picked on as much as MDV, which is unfair really, at least you can see that MDV is trying. With Sylla, he only seems to give a f*ck when he feels like it.

I thought Hume and Hammond linked up well and some of their interplay was excellent, they were a constant threat and I couldnt understand for the life of me why when we needed to get an equaliser Levein took Hammond off.

I'm not one for targeting one player but Sylla gets criticism because he appears not to give two fecks about our Club, some people will forgive Players if they are seen to be putting effort in regardless of their ability.Sylla may well have the ability but he seems as if he can't be arsed to use it.I live in an area full of Celtic fans and they have told me he was exactly the same for Celtic hence MON rarely played him.Posters on this forum who don't go in for slating individuals have come out in criticism for Sylla and I believe that to be significant. If Sylla could have been bothered to track back last night then maybe the cross for their Winner would have never have been delivered .

I thought Hume was excellent last night but I always thought he would be;) :icon_lol:

I am really pleased that we have a good strike pairing that seem to play well together and pose defences some real problems. I am also happy that MDV is a good back up option, that is always looking like he wants to score even if he doesnt actually look like hes going to do it.

We just need to sort out the attitude, espcially when pegged back, and I reckon we still have the makings of a top 10 side.
